In this blog, I will explain an error occurred when we build an AEM project using –<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/b><\/span>mvn clean install -P <Profile Name>, <\/b>maven command.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span>Error description is as shown below – <\/i><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.felix:maven-scr-plugin:1.7.4:scr (generate-scr-descriptor) on project blog-bundle: SCR Descriptor parsing had failures (see log) -> [Help 1]<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
[ERROR] <\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
[ERROR] To see the full stack trace of the errors, re-run Maven with the -e switch.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
[ERROR] Re-run Maven using the -X switch to enable full debug logging.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
[ERROR] <\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

[ERROR]   mvn <goals> -rf :blog-bundle<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
Cause of this error – <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n

<\/span>Most of the time this error occur because of the use of these two annotations – <\/span><\/div>\n
@SlingServlet & <\/i><\/b><\/span>@Component <\/i>same class.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span>\n

 <\/p>\n

For Example, If your coding syntax is  – <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
@SlingServlet(path=”\/bin\/blog” extension=”html”)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
@Component<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
Class TestServlet extends SlingSafeMethodsServlet { \/<\/i><\/span>*  ———————– *\/ <\/i>}<\/i><\/div>\n
\n
 <\/i><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
In this case you will get that error, <\/i>because @SlingServlet <\/i><\/b>have a property “generateComponent”<\/i><\/b> by default it’s value is “true”<\/i><\/b> so ideally you don’t provide the @Component<\/i><\/b> annotation.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
How to Resolve this issue – <\/i><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
There are two ways to resolve this issue – <\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span>1).<\/b> Remove @Component<\/i><\/b> annotation while creating Sling Servlet.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
2).<\/b> The issue with first solution are – <\/span><\/div>\n
2.1).<\/b> We are not able to activate this Sling Servlet immediately, It is totally dependent on <\/i>Felix<\/b> implementation when it will activate this Sling Servlet. i.e. it may or may not be in active state after deploying the package.<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/i>2.2).<\/b> We are not able to use immediate, enabled metatype<\/b> & other properties provided by  <\/i><\/span>@Component<\/b>

<\/i>preferred way to use these annotations is –<\/span><\/b><\/i><\/div>\n
