In this blog, I will explain the easiest way of dispatcher configuration<\/span><\/i> on Apache2 Server<\/span><\/i> and OS version Ubuntu 15.04<\/span><\/i>. This configuration will also work on Ubuntu 14.04<\/span><\/i>.<\/p>\n

Let’s start:-
\nFirstly, you have to install Apache2 server on your Ubuntu machine using this command-
\nsudo<\/gs><\/gs> apt-get install apache2<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now type the command-
\nsudo<\/gs><\/gs> service apache2 start<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now hit a url in a web browser-
\nhttp:\/\/localhost<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

You will get apache2 welcome screen as shown in figure-<\/p>\n

Now download the dispatcher package from this link-
\nhttps:\/\/www.adobeaemcloud.com\/content\/companies\/public\/adobe\/dispatcher\/dispatcher.html<\/span><\/i>
\n
\n<\/span><\/i>If you are using the apache2 version 2.4.10, you have to download dispatcher version 4.1.9
\nExtract this *.<\/gs><\/gs>tar.<\/gs><\/gs>gz<\/gs><\/gs> file<\/span><\/i>, You will get a folder named as dispatcher-apache2.<\/gs><\/gs>4-linux<\/gs><\/gs>-x86-64-4.1.9<\/span><\/i>.<\/p>\n

In this folder you have a file dispatcher-apache2.<\/gs><\/gs>2-4.1.9.<\/gs><\/gs>so<\/span><\/i> file, just rename this file with dispatcher<\/gs><\/gs>.<\/gs><\/gs>so<\/span><\/i>
\nThe location of this file will be like as shown in figure-<\/p>\n

Copy and paste this dispatcher.<\/gs><\/gs>so file to \/usr\/lib\/apache2\/modules <\/span><\/i>as shown in figure-<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Before paste<\/gs><\/gs> this file into this directory you have to change the permission of the directory using this command-
\nsudo<\/gs><\/gs> chmod 777 -R \/usr\/lib\/apache2\/modules<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now copy an another file named as dispatcher<\/gs><\/gs>.<\/gs><\/gs>any<\/span><\/i> file from dispatcher-apache2.<\/gs><\/gs>4-linux<\/gs><\/gs>-x86-64-4.1.9\/conf<\/gs><\/span><\/i> directory and paste to the etc<\/gs><\/gs>\/apache2\/conf-available<\/span><\/i> directory.
\nAgain, if you can’t paste<\/gs><\/gs> this file into this directory  you have to change the permission of the directory using this command-
\nsudo<\/gs><\/gs> chmod 777 -R \/etc\/apache2<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now you can easily paste your file in this directory and all those directories which are placed into appache2 directory. The location of this directory is shown in figure-
\n“In this file you have to change the port number to 4503 as the default number 8080”.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

After this, you have to create a soft link of dispatcher<\/gs><\/gs>.<\/gs><\/gs>any<\/span><\/i> file into<\/gs><\/gs> the conf<\/gs>-enabled<\/span><\/i> directory using this cammand<\/gs><\/gs>–
\nln -s \/etc\/apache2\/conf-available\/dispatcher.any \/etc\/apache2\/conf-enabled\/dispatcher.any<\/span><\/i>

\n<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 It will look like this-<\/p>\n

Now create a dispatcher.<\/gs><\/gs>load<\/span><\/i> file in mods-available<\/span><\/i> folder and write a line in this file-
\nLoadModule dispatcher_module \/usr\/lib\/apache2\/modules\/dispatcher.<\/gs><\/gs>so<\/span><\/i>

\n<\/span><\/i>It will look like this-<\/p>\n

“Note: – This file will be used to load dispatcher module on Apache2 server”.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now create a soft link<\/span><\/i> in mods-enabled<\/span><\/i> directory using this command-
\nln -s \/etc\/apache2\/mods-available\/dispatcher.load \/etc\/apache2\/mods-enabled\/dispatcher.load<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

It will look like this-<\/p>\n

Now open apache2-conf<\/gs><\/span><\/i> file which is placed in etc<\/gs><\/gs>\/apache2<\/span><\/i> directory and search for the Directory tag. Here you have to add one more directory tag as gi<\/gs>ven below-<\/p>\n

<Directory \/><\/span><\/i>
\n  <IfModule<\/gs><\/gs> disp_apache2<\/gs>.<\/gs><\/gs><\/span><\/i>c><\/span><\/i>
\n <\/span><\/i>  SetHandler dispatcher-handler<\/span><\/i>
\n  <\/IfModule<\/gs><\/gs>><\/span><\/i>
\n  Options FollowSymLinks<\/span><\/i>
\n  AllowOverride None<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/Directory><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now open ports.<\/gs><\/gs>conf<\/gs> <\/span><\/i>file & add these some<\/gs><\/gs> line at the end of the file-
\n
\n<\/span><\/i><IfModule<\/gs><\/gs> disp_apache2.<\/gs><\/gs>c><\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherConfig<\/gs><\/gs> conf-enabled\/dispatcher.<\/gs><\/gs>any<\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherLog<\/gs><\/gs>    logs\/dispatcher.log<\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherLogLevel<\/gs><\/gs> 3<\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherNoServerHeader<\/gs><\/gs> 0<\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherDeclineRoot<\/gs><\/gs> 0<\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherUseProcessedURL<\/gs><\/gs> 0<\/span><\/i>
\n     DispatcherPassError<\/gs><\/gs> 0<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/IfModule<\/gs><\/gs>><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Now go to \/etc<\/gs><\/gs> directory<\/span><\/i> and open hosts file<\/span><\/i> using this command-
\nsudo<\/gs><\/gs> gedit \/etc\/hosts<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Add one more line in this file-
\n127.0.0.1       publish.sjigaurav.com<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

You can add anything whatever you want at the place of publish.sjigaurav.com.<\/p>\n

Now configuration is complete you can restart your apache2 server using this command-
\nsudo<\/gs><\/gs> service apache2 restart<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Go to your web browser and hit the url publish.sjigaurav.com<\/span><\/i> you will find the welcome screen.
\nIt starts successfully.<\/p>\n
