In this blog, I will explain how can we remove extra div<\/gs><\/gs> those are generated automatically when we use either sling:<\/gs><\/gs>include or cq<\/gs><\/gs>:<\/gs><\/gs>include <\/span><\/i>in our jsp<\/gs><\/gs>.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

  1. Now the question arises, can we get rid of these extra divs<\/gs><\/gs>?<\/i><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Will they be generated everytime<\/gs>?<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
  3. If we can remove these extra divs<\/gs><\/gs>, how can we do that?<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/p>\n

    In this post, I will explain all of these questions. Let’s begin with the first question-<\/div>\n
    Yes, we can remove these extra divs and<\/gs><\/gs> it totally depends on our coding practices. Most of the time developers don’t care about these divs<\/gs><\/gs> and write their code, but these extra divs<\/gs><\/gs> makes<\/gs><\/gs> our HTML bulky as the size of HTML increases, it increases network traffic and performance of our site decreases. Because of these divs<\/gs><\/gs> most of the developers always faces<\/gs><\/gs> CSS issues.<\/div>\n

    For removing these extra divs<\/gs><\/gs> you have to include these lines of code in your component level. These lines are-<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    if<\/gs><\/gs>(<\/gs><\/gs>WCMMode.<\/gs><\/gs>fromRequest<\/gs><\/gs>(<\/gs><\/gs>request) !<\/gs><\/gs>= WCMMode.<\/gs><\/gs>EDIT)<\/gs><\/gs>{<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
            IncludeOptions<\/gs><\/gs>.<\/gs><\/gs>getOptions<\/gs><\/gs>(<\/gs><\/gs>request,<\/gs><\/gs>true).<\/gs><\/gs>setDecorationTagName<\/gs><\/gs>(<\/gs><\/gs>“”);<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n

    The best practice is that you must put these lines in your global.jsp<\/span><\/i>. So that all of your project components have these lines of code available to them.<\/div>\n
    So that if you sling:<\/gs><\/gs>include<\/span><\/i> or cq<\/gs><\/gs>:<\/gs><\/gs>include<\/span><\/i> any of these components then no extra div<\/gs><\/gs> will be generated.<\/div>\n
