In this blog, I am going to share a very interesting point related to the allowedPaths<\/gs><\/gs><\/b><\/span><\/i> property.
If you create your project and in this project you create a template and want to create a page using this template, your template will not visible in the siteadmin<\/gs><\/gs><\/span><\/i><\/gs>. But if you copy the same template and paste in the <\/gs>geomtrixx<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>\/templates then this template will show you under geometrixx<\/gs><\/gs> page at siteadmin<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> page creation dialog.<\/p>\n

So, the question arises here that why this template visibl<\/span><\/i><\/gs>e in geometrixx<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/span><\/i> and why not visible in our project? <\/span><\/i>
The answer<\/gs> is that geometrixx<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> top level page has a <\/gs><\/gs>cq<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>:<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>allowedTemplates<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> <\/span><\/i><\/b>property as shown below-<\/p>\n

 So because of this property all templates which are created in<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> geomtrixx<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> project will be visible but our template has no restrictive<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> (allowedPaths<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>, allowedTemplate<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> etc.) <\/span><\/i>property.<\/p>\n

So for making visible this  template we have to add allowedPaths<\/gs><\/gs><\/span><\/b> property. This is mandatory for the first or top level page <\/span><\/i>creation. Now when we create any page under this page, all siblings<\/span><\/i> templates of this template will be visible.
When we add this property, then this template will be visible as displayed below-<\/p>\n

At the top level page we can add <\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>cq<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>:<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>allowedTemplates<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> <\/span><\/i><\/b>property so that we can see under this page only those templates which we defined in this property.<\/p>\n

To show our template under \/content directory or every page under \/content directory<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>, we have to add a property on<\/gs> our template named as allowedPaths<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> = \/content(<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>\/.<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>*)?<\/span><\/i><\/b>
In my case I created a template named as homePage<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> with the property allowedPaths<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs> = \/content(<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>\/.<\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs><\/gs>*)?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Now this template will show on every page under content directory except geometrixx<\/gs><\/gs> page.<\/p>\n
