{"id":402,"date":"2020-01-13T11:00:37","date_gmt":"2020-01-13T11:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lhotsetechnologies.com\/blog\/?p=402"},"modified":"2020-06-13T10:04:32","modified_gmt":"2020-06-13T10:04:32","slug":"removing-extra-component-div-in-aem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lhotsetechnologies.com\/blog\/removing-extra-component-div-in-aem\/","title":{"rendered":"Removing extra component div in AEM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>While you make a component and if you see the HTML of the component in publish mode then it contains the extra <\/em><em>div of the component due to this your css and js might break.<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So to remove the component div you have to make cq:htmlTag node inside your component.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This node primaryType is nt:unstructured. And also you have to add another property i.e cq:tagName.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In this you can write tag name which you want, which is of String type. E<\/em><em>x&#8211; cq:tagName &#8211;&gt;&nbsp; div, p or sly etc.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If you write tag name then that particular tag will appear in HTML.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You can left blank the value of cq:tagName if you dont want any div.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So when you will see the html of publish mode then there is no extra div of particular tag.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Example<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>My component name is topnavthird, so in the publish mode when I see the HTML of component then it contains the extra div which contains class attribute of value component name i.e topnavthird.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/5xvqH6Q-xQ32DKDQubeiYSnPrCZsV70hWEuFO9zMCWxbzYYSL0R87s4aA-lQFXJqC_g3Af_LCdu6fuNhlPIi-0SrwKwg_lKcshTOZn7JH3744igerOL4AIfi6f4SEcMCzMkX7wVr\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Extra div under ul tag.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But When I use cq:htmlTag node and set cq:tagName property to blank<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/GK15iDp85ogq7NdeQbhDnMAo54foeoO6_0UoNqPO19qMEhvW8IW3X3F-0WQB7_nLwH0m6SFTJoVgdRg5PXiI_Bq8-wQb4dm-fYQho6nIbYFmA9KBeUU1mdlSF-IwEbU2DcOBgOg-\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>then the extra component div is removed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/a_D9LAGM4NLTUgS93EbJ3Ku-LzjHW2Ruzg08BIPKjRaDatKR945VTrxUId2zxU7Gl7wihA5wIiil0z6AxsMmW8FYEM2LX6naNJT7GlB23KM8DYpp5wD3S2iNFMNffQLyp4nat2ky\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But it does not mean that you can not use any value, you can set any value to cq:tagName property.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/kWNSKoGnneGDINILKXto0j7j9KmhdZxaEXDDPkAuEJx0Z8WAvA0agd7FcrjHPIVfV-LC-HcLN10WlQkom0asIj7QC-_KdB5HANzePZkl_GYPRKbv4DV2QYi0sCFkfFyoFmYXbkkL\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Here I use sly, so now there is an extra sly division in place of div.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/i0Kdkr7UAIg_qZ2toJA8VUZkmpqqzPv3gMDxW48JF4kNVle3hj3bIztHKeSwWcrpSOENca5bnnR1cwPol4xZ3GzV9efNx9DjPwelpEhiYEq6teltGqLKt71avF9glfRjJjxmqpyC\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>All this I experienced in 6.2 and above.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><br><\/em><strong>@Reference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.adobe.com\/content\/help\/en\/experience-manager-64\/developing\/components\/decoration-tag.html\">https:\/\/docs.adobe.com\/content\/help\/en\/experience-manager-64\/developing\/components\/decoration-tag.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While you make a component and if you see the HTML of the component in publish mode then it contains [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2,173],"tags":[268],"class_list":["post-402","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-aem","category-aem6-4","tag-removing-extra-div-in-component"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
